A group of students from NCSSM's summer symposium were walking the Eno River in Durham, NC when student, Taylor H. slipped on a rock and fell forward hitting her head. Bryson H. (Eagle Scout Troop 705), Andrew F (Eagle Scout). and Corbin R. from NCSSM were quick to react. Taylor had hit her head, the water from the ENO River was waterboarding over her face, she had several deep lacerations to her head. The young men thought quickly, removed her from the water, stopped the bleeding and moved her out of the river. Then calling 911 for help. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she received stitches to her head, a cat scan showing a major concussion, brusing to the face and trama to the neck. Taylor is doing well and we are thankful that she had such quick reacting Eagle Scouts and prepared young men to help her in this situation.
